My name is Victoriia Slavinska. I am a Ukrainian artist and illustrator, born in Brovary in 1979.
In 2005, I graduated from Kyiv University of Technology and Design. I began painting in 2009 and have devoted myself entirely to this creative path ever since. Over the past 16 years, I have developed my practice as both an artist and illustrator, working across painting, teaching, and visual storytelling.
From 2010 to 2020, I worked as a drawing instructor for children and adults in various art studios. During this time, I also led creative workshops at festivals and community events, sharing my vision and helping others discover their own.
Due to the war, I was forced to leave Ukraine in 2022 and lived as a refugee in Istanbul. The city became my temporary home and a source of inspiration, which is why it now appears frequently in my paintings. In 2023, I returned to Ukraine and continue to live and work here despite the ongoing wartime conditions.
I work primarily with oil and mixed media, focusing on urban landscapes, especially of Istanbul — a city that inspires me deeply. Through the use of symbols and color, I embed emotional and narrative layers into each painting.
My illustration work includes two metaphorical decks for use by psychologists in therapy and self-reflection. I am also the author of several themed painting series, including:
• Mandala 13 (13 paintings)
• Istanbul’s Tree (6 works)
• Lady and Cat (31 works)
• City Walk (33 works)
To date, I have created over 350 original artworks. My paintings are held in private collections across Ukraine, Germany, Australia, Spain, Turkey, Switzerland, and the United States.
I have held two solo exhibitions and participated in over 20 fairs, festivals, and group shows. In addition, I run an art-focused YouTube channel, where I share my process, inspirations, and reflections on the artistic journey.
